Locklab for Her is a 4-in-1 compounded medication taken for the treatment of female pattern hair loss—it contains Minoxidil, Chelate Iron, Biotin, and Vitamin B9. Locklab for Her may be used to regrow, strengthen and thicken hair.
Minoxidil works by boosting blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients to hair follicles, which puts hair into the growth phase (anagen phase) indefinitely where hair becomes thicker and fuller.
Chelate Iron treats the number one nutrient deficiency that causes hair loss in women. Locklab contains the clinically studied amino acid chelate form of iron (the same found in food), because it’s gentler on your stomach and better for your hair.
Biotin is a B vitamin found in nature that is widely used to support healthy hair, skin, and nails.
Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid) is responsible for promoting the growth of cells within your body—including the ones in your hair.
ORAL MINOXIDIL (2.5MG) is a prescription medication proven in decades of clinical trials to stimulate hair growth. It is generally considered that the higher the dose, the greater the clinical effect; however, it is important not to take more than your healthcare provider has prescribed to you. Ask your healthcare provider or Locklab Provider if you have any questions.
Do not use oral minoxidil for the treatment of your female pattern hair loss if you:
If you experience any of the above side effects, contact your provider as you may benefit from a dose adjustment or change in treatment. Oral minoxidil can cause early hair shedding as beneficial hair cycling is triggered. This is an expected side effect that will improve with continued minoxidil use. Minoxidil may cause changes to your EKG; tell your doctor prior to an EKG if you are taking oral minoxidil.
The above symptoms may be signs of a more serious reaction.
This list may not describe all possible side effects of minoxidil. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate help in-person. For more information, message your Locklab Provider or contact your doctor if you have additional questions about side effects.
CHELATE IRON (8MG) is a form of iron bound to an amino acid, usually for better absorption and gentler digestion. 8mg is generally considered a low to moderate dose and is often used for maintenance or mild deficiency prevention. However, even at this dose, some side effects may occur in sensitive individuals. Take Locklab with, or just after, a meal or snack to help with any potential nausea.
More common side effects (these are usually mild at 8 mg/day):
Less common side effects:
IN RARE CASES, chelate iron can cause a serious allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling - rare).
These are not all the possible side effects of Vitamin B9. For more information, ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist. Contact your doctor if you have additional questions about side effects.

BIOTIN (2.5MG) is a B vitamin essential for metabolism that is often used to support healthy hair, skin, and nails.
Biotin is a vitamin naturally found in food and as such does not generally interact with other medications. However, it's advisable to have a conversation with your healthcare provider before introducing any new supplements. Seeking guidance from a medical professional ensures a thoughtful approach to incorporating dietary enhancements into your daily routine, prioritizing your health and well-being.

VITAMIN B9 (2.5MG), aka folic acid is responsible for promoting the growth of cells in your body, including the ones in your hair. When used orally at appropriate doses, folic acid is likely very safe. Take Locklab with, or just after, a meal or snack to help with potential nausea.
IN RARE CASES, folic acid can cause a serious allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling - rare).

Locklab must be taken on a regular basis for your hair to regrow. It typically takes 4 months to notice any improvement and may take up to 12 months of regular use before you reach peak regrowth, although many men reach peak regrowth in 6 months. It is important to continue to use this product to maintain regrowth of hair. Once you stop using it, the regrown hair will usually fall out within 1-6 months.
If you miss a dose, don’t double up, just skip that dose and take it as usual the next day. There are no additional benefits from taking Locklab more than once a day.
Telemedicine does not replace your primary care physician. It is important to keep your primary care and other healthcare providers, and your pharmacists informed of all medications you are taking, including Locklab, as they can interact with other medicines you may be taking.
